However, ‘Reiki With The Herd’ sessions have become so much more than this. The horses ask that you are an active participant in your healing, offering support in a variety of ways. Sometimes they gently hold space; at other times they move energy, or reflect and role model what you are ready to release/ heal.
Each session is completely unique, and can offer profound healing, often accompanied by deep energetic and emotional release. While we cannot guarantee the horses will hang over the table with you, we can assure you that Soo, the herd and the surrounding environment will hold and support you throughout the session.

What is Reiki With The Herd?
Reiki With The Herd is a 90-minute energy healing session held within the living presence of the horses and the surrounding natural environment. Sessions focus on releasing, rebalancing, and supporting the body’s innate capacity to regulate and restore.
We set up wherever the horses are, and as a Reiki channel, Soo opens the session. The horses are invited to engage and are free to choose their level of involvement. While we cannot guarantee how physically close they will be, it is rare for them not to participate in some way — and when they keep distance, it is always aligned with what the client needs.
The herd are profoundly attuned to subtle shifts in energy, emotion, and presence. Their calm, regulated awareness, combined with my work as a certified Tanran Reiki practitioner and herd matriarch, creates a grounded and powerful healing space. Sessions are usually quiet and peaceful, though gentle dialogue may arise if guided by what I’m sensing or observing from the horses.

How Sessions Work
Soo, a Level II Tanran Reiki Practitioner, sets up and grounds the session, creating a living energetic space that invites in the herd, ancestors, spirit guides, wildlife and the surrounding natural environment.
You can choose whether to lie on the massage table, or sit in a chair (most people choose the table).
Participants have the option to remain fully present, attuned to their own energy and the herd’s subtle guidance, or to drop deeper into the session, with some falling asleep.
These are energetic sessions — still, attuned, and restorative. The horses act as co-channels, creating a subtle, intuitive field for balance, alignment, and energetic restoration.
The herd may sometimes guide the experience into a more therapeutic or verbal process. Gentle insights, guidance, or reflections may emerge naturally, supporting deeper attunement, release, and alignment. [They like participants to be actively involved in their own healing!]
Each session is unique, attuned to your needs and the intelligence of the herd and land.

In short, both Reiki and Somatic sessions are energy-based and guided by openness and curiosity. In both you’re welcome to bring a specific intention or something you’d like support with, or simply arrive open to what unfolds.
Both sessions offer healing, and can be deeply supportive and restorative. Because the work is experiential and felt in the body, clients almost always struggle to find words to explain their experience.
Where they differ is in structure and level of interaction.
REIKI WITH THE HERD | 90 mins
Primarily energetic, still, attuned, and restorative. Focuses on subtle alignment, energy balance, and attunement. Occasionally, verbal guidance may emerge, but the session remains gentle and energy-focused.
SOMATIC ENERGY HEALING WITH SOO & THE HORSES | 60 mins
Client-led, body-based, interactive, and intuitive. Focuses on embodied release, clarity, and stepping into your next authentic expression. Usualy done standing (though sitting is fine.)
Usually emotions, memories or patterns surface. Rather than analysing them, we stay with the body’s experience and support gentle (safe, trauma-informed) release and integration. You remain in control of how deep you go.
If you’re wanting something more exploratory, or have a particular focus, a somatic session may feel most aligned.
