The Power Of Your Thoughts And Intentions
How sensitive are horses to your energy and mood

The northern hedge in The Stables herb garden here at Highlands Centre For Healing is made of rosemary. It loves where it is and quickly grew to the height seen in the photo. (Well, it grew higher as I’ve had to keep it hedged!)

A while back, six, maybe even twelve months ago, I looked at this hedge several times and considered cutting the mid-section down to offer a view to the north once you are sitting at the water feature in the garden.

After much deliberation, and repeat glances at the hedge, I decided not to do so and left the hedge alone.

Fast forward many months …

When I looked at the hedge recently, I noticed that the same section I had intended cutting down has died. Some coincidence hey? Except there are no coincidences when you become aware of the power our thoughts and intentions hold.

The Energy of Intentions

Everything in the universe is made up of energy. We are energy; our thoughts and emotions are energy; all we look at and experience is energy. Our experience in this life is the result of the energy of our beliefs and our vibration.

As energetic beings, we vibrate at different frequencies. The ‘better’ our mood, the higher our vibration, and vice versa. Peace, joy and love vibrate at the opposite end of the spectrum to blame, guilt and fear. If you pause to reflect on this, it makes sense doesn’t it. How much ‘lighter’ do you feel when joy filled? And how much ‘heavier’ when plagued with guilt?

The universe responds to the vibration we emit, reflecting back experiences that match our energetic frequency.

It is so important to be aware of what we are asking for. When we attract things that we don’t like, it is most commonly our subconscious at play. In other words, we have still attracted the situation, person, whatever … just not consciously.

This is where trauma comes in. We carry beliefs and energetic residues from traumatic experiences we’ve had throughout life, and these attract just as much (probably more) than our consciousness.

When we consciously set an intention, we are directing our energy toward a specific purpose. This focused energy acts like a magnet, drawing similar energies into our lives.

From an energy perspective, setting intentions is like planting seeds in fertile soil. As we nurture these seeds with positive thoughts, emotions, and actions, they grow and eventually manifest in our reality. This process requires patience and trust, as the timing of manifestation often depends on factors beyond our immediate control.

And so it was with the rosemary hedge. I planted the seed of removing the centre section. It took time. And lo and behold, there’s the result in plain sight.

The Power of Intentions: An Energy Perspective

Intentions are more than just goals or wishes; they are powerful declarations that shape our reality. From an energy perspective, intentions serve as guiding forces that align our thoughts, emotions, and actions with the universe, allowing us to manifest our deepest desires. Understanding the power of intentions and harnessing them effectively can transform our lives in profound ways.

Setting Powerful Intentions

Setting powerful intentions involves more than simply stating what we want. It requires a deep connection to our inner selves and a clear understanding of our true desires. Here are some steps to help you set powerful intentions from an energy perspective:

  1. Reflect on Your Desires: Take time to reflect on what truly matters to you. What are your core values? What do you want to create in your life? By connecting with your deepest desires, you can set intentions that align with your authentic self.
  2. Be Clear and Specific: Clearly articulate your intentions in a positive way. Use present tense. Instead of saying, “I want to be healthy,” state, “I am vibrant and full of energy.” This clarity sends a strong signal to the universe about what you wish to manifest.
  3. FEEL what you wish to experience: (this is a really important component) Emotions are powerful energy amplifiers. When setting intentions, immerse yourself in the feelings associated with your desired outcome. Feel the sensations of joy, gratitude, and excitement as if your intention has already manifested. In other words, draw it in toward you.
  4. Visualize Your Intentions: Visualization is a potent tool for manifesting intentions. Close your eyes and vividly imagine your desired outcome. Engage all your senses in the visualization process, allowing the energy of your intention to infuse your entire being.
  5. Release and Trust: Once you have set your intention, release attachment to the outcome. Trust that the universe is working in your favour and that your intention will manifest in perfect timing. Let go of any doubts or fears, knowing that you are supported by the energy of your intention.

The Impact of Intentions on Our Lives

When we harness the power of intentions, we become conscious creators of our reality. By aligning our energy with our desires, we attract experiences and opportunities that support our growth and fulfillment. Intentions empower us to live authentically, guided by our inner truth.

The energy of our intentions extends beyond our individual lives, influencing the collective consciousness. As more people set positive and harmonious intentions, the world becomes a more compassionate and connected place. Our intentions ripple outward, creating a positive impact on the world around us.

Non-judgemental, safe space

I went to Soo to participate in some Equine Therapy sessions as an alternative to seeing a psychologist and after the first session I knew I had chosen the right avenue to help with my anxiety, stress and particularly some past trauma. I felt very safe with Soo and the herd. As the first session was so enlightening I had wondered what the following five weeks would bring up, if anything. I was surprised at what did arise and was very grateful to Soo and the herd for giving me some tools and practices to take home and which I am still using to manage daily life. I would thoroughly recommend HCFH to anyone who needs to let go of anything that is holding them back from living a more fulfilled and peaceful life. Soo and the horses are amazing healers.
