Healing Trauma
how to deal with emotional trauma triggers

TRAUMA sits in our body.

This is why you can’t think, rationalise or talk your way out of it.

It occurs from an event that causes long-term dysregulation of your nervous system.

It occurred when it wasn’t safe for the felt energy in your body to reach completion.

When the nervous system cannot return to its baseline functioning, the effect on us is what we call anxiety, depression, overwhelm, childhood trauma, PTSI. (NOTE: We don’t subscribe to PTSD; this is not a ‘disorder’ but an ‘injury’. In fact, it’s a highly intelligent survival response)

We become tuned into a fight or flight state. An ongoing, pervasive sense of un-ease.

Healing for Trauma

TRAUMA IS NEVER YOUR FAULT. Nor that of anyone around you.

It is simply how your being has responded to a situation. It is energy that has become stuck.

This may result in you finding it hard to communicate or take action when under pressure. I repeat, it is not your fault.

Your body’s response comes from your automated functions. It comes from the unconscious and is not, and cannot be, controlled by your conscious mind. Although you may tried hard to do so!

How to heal trauma

First up, TRAUMA CAN BE HEALED.

Calm can be found.

The relief is immense!

Trauma Therapy supports you in recalibrating your nervous system, by releasing the stuck energies that no longer serve you, and by showing your body what a state of peace and calm actually feels like.

This can take time, though it may not. We are all individuals.

You can teach your nervous system how to fully recover, and learn how to support it, allowing return to a healthy, regulated existence.

What does healing trauma look like?

This will change how you feel. How you think. How you respond.

You’ll feel more grounded and peaceful. You’ll experience true happiness and joy.

It’s not your fault if you’re experiencing dysregulation from things that happened in your past. But it is your choice whether you invite healing and create positive change for your future.
